About Visions of Sugar Plums (VOSP)

Visions of Sugar Plums was co-founded in 1989 by Thomas and Andrea Schweitzer. Tom worked for a few years with some national fundraising companies, and discovered a couple common problems that could only be overcome by a "locally based" company. The only problem is there weren't any companies in the area (we are still the only company/warehouse in the state of Delaware).

A couple of the obvious issues or deficiencies were service and regional tastes.  Peoples buying habits differ greatly from region to region, so we needed to offer items suited for our customer base in PA, MD and DE. At the same time a new business was just emerging in the elementary school market, Holiday Shops (aka: santa shops).This market was even worse off, there were only a couple Holiday shop companies in the entire country and they were all on the west coast or in the south. We listened to our customers and came up with a business plan and launched Visions of Sugar Plums.  

Most of the companies in this business look very similar and basically "copy" each other. So, how are we different? Starting with our "Visions of Sugar Plums Holiday Shop", it's our company.  The product selection is carefully chosen each year and our services are all about knowing how to help The Volunteer, (ie: re-stocking each evening with our own drivers...not UPS or FED EX, many rural schools don't get UPS until the afternoon, even with overnite service).
We realize this is a "people business" both when dealing with our customers, but just as important who we hire to assist our customers. 

Our Elf’s are smart, quick thinkers, with lots of common sense and with a big dash of good humor... we find this attracts the same type of customers. We recognize we are dealing with Mom's and Dad's who are giving up their free time to help, so our aim is take the pressure and workload off your back. VOSP Fundraising is our fundraising arm, and as you will see, offers not only the most unique product line, but cutting edge services not found anywhere else in the country.  

We now offer more choices to our schools and sport groups, providing the convenience of working with one local and reliable company. In addition to our highly acclaimed Holiday Shop (the region's oldest and largest) and Fundraising programs, we have partnered with Classic Photography offering school and league pictures, and also Simply Yearbooks, providing patented software with in-house publishing of your yearbook! You now have a local source for programs you have had to go across the country for and all the while wondering why there wasn’t someone closer!

We work with a variety of groups including elementary schools, sports leagues, church organizations, daycares, choral groups, bands, sports programs, cheerleading groups, gymnastic teams, dance troupes, scouts and the like. It's nice to know there is a company with a couple decades of experience that provides services like these in your local community.
